Define every day of the Navratri with a stunning colour and stand out from the rest. Here are some exciting nine-day colour-coded dressing ideas. Embrace the beautiful colours in the most favoured trends of the season.
Day #1: Tasty Tangerine
It’s orange for the first day of Navratri and you can go for a floor touch anarkali teamed up with beautiful chaand balis or danglers just like our gorgeous Madhuri Dixit. What’s more? You can even sport a cotton silk orange kurta with an embroidered net dupatta.
For a more stylish and festive look, you can even opt for a lehenga and can drape it like a saree. Just keep one thing in mind that instead of going with too many colours, play safe by mixing orange with dash of a grey, beige, white or pink like Sophie Chaudhary in this picture above.
Day #2: White
Contrary to the popular belief, white is a very beautiful colour that would help you to stand out between the riot of other colours. Wear it on day two to take a break from the vibrant hues you have been wearing so far. If you are looking for something comfortable yet trendy, go for an anarkali kurta teamed up with asalwar, jutti and beautiful neck piece just like Kareena in the picture above.
Since cotton silk is very in these days. It will be a wise choice if you opt for a self-print cotton silk kurta teamed up with an ankle length straight-cut pyjama, a delicate neck piece and a Punjabi jutti.
What else? Here’s Anushka right here to tell you! To stand out of the crowd, you can go for a jacket style anarkali teamed up with jhumkas and golden shimmery peep-toes.
Day #3: Roaring Red
Offset a rich red anarkali or saree with neutral colours like white, yellow and orange to keep your look balanced. Even while selecting sarees and salwar suits in red colour, follow the same mantra to look stylish and stay away from the overdose of this most loved festive colour.
There is a risk of running into the bridal zone with this colour, so make sure that there is a certain sort of subtleness in whatever you choose (if it is all red).
Day #4: Royal Blue
The colour blue is as contemporary and traditional as it can get. You can ape ananarkali that gives that required royalty to your look. Just like Deepika in this picture, you can wear an elegant plain floor length anarkali with just heavy neckline and border (teamed up with a heavily embroidered dupatta). The entire look can be completed with danglers, jhumkas or chaan baalis (whatever you like!).
If it Navratri, how can someone forget wearing lehenga, no? This season just don’t experiment mixing royal blue with any other colour just like B-town diva Kareena Kapoor. All you need is full embroidered dupatta and choli with a deep back design to look even sexier.
Else, you can even go for a bandhani printed asymmetrical kurta along with a printed palazzo. And complete the entire look with a beautiful necklace and Punjabi jutti.
Day #5: Yummy Yellow
Yellow is a bright, chirpy colour, which not only uplifts your spirits but also makes you stand out. You can take inspiration from Kapoor sisters to look edgy and chic. If you feel yellow is too bright for you, then adding a complementing or contrasting colour will help you tone things down, yet make you look trendy!
When it comes to lehenga, go for an overall yellow one with white-coloured embroidery teamed up with a jaal work choli. And since skirts with crop tops are so much in fashion these days, you can go for a yellow printed or embroidered crop top with a full length skirt teamed up with heavy danglers or jhumkis.
Day #6: Gorgeous Green
If you are going for a dandiya night, lehenga is the best bet for you. This Navratri season opt for a pastel green net lehenga having full frill teamed up with a pretty net dupatta with beautiful borders (see Kalki Koechin in this picture above). You are definitely gonna steal everyone’s heart. Else, you can opt for a jacket styleanarkali like Sonam.
Green does not only mean emerald or bottle shades. You can even spunk up your look with an unusual tone of green like parrot green. Keep the embroidery simple so you look elegant while looking unconventional.
Day #7: Grey
You might feel grey is dull and boring, but what you fail to see is that it is one of the most powerful, underrated colours that can infuse excitement in your vibrant wardrobe. While selecting a grey saree, just make sure that you pick a shimmery blouse. And to look even more stylish and elegant at the same time, go for a floor length plain anarkali teamed up with a stunning pair of Punjabijuttis.
If you are planning to go with a lehenga, then follow a crop top and a full-length skirt as discussed earlier. This style will not only uplift the otherwise-dull grey, but also make you stand out. Day #8: Powerful Purple
Well this is the colour of the season, so go out while sporting this hue. Purple, magenta or violet coloured saree with hints of gold in it, is another traditional yet trendy look that you can don as the nine days of Navratri come to a close. Whether you are going for a traditional look or a modern one, a purple salwar suit with shades of gold or beige in it is a chic choice to don for everyone.
Do justice to this colour, by picking a beautiful lehenga choli. Pair the purplelehenga with a contrasting green blouse. Even purple and white creates a dreamy combination that can be worn for the garba nights without a doubt.
Day #9: Peacock Green
Here you are going to make everyone fall in love with your straight away! In case you want to don a saree, then there is nothing better than what Lauren is wearing. Pick a fully embroidered blouse having golden patch work and a sexydori at the back. You can complete the entire look of yours with gorgeous earrings and a side messy braid.
